Fabric Inspiration

This top is made from a fabric featuring a classic Ndebele print design which originates from the Ndunduza Transvaal Ndebele people of South Africa. As far back as the 18th Century, the Ndunduza Ndebele created their own tradition and style of house painting using five main colours: red and dark red, yellow to gold, a sky blue, green, and sometimes pink. Today, The Ndebele people are known for their beautiful colourful artwork which has found itself into mainstream art and fashion, with ‘Ndebele print’ style fabrics becoming a popular staple for designing bold and brightly coloured pieces with a sun-kissed Southern African vibe.
